In this article, you will learn how to make your own homemade makeup remover, skin toner, serum, anti-aging eye cream, and sunscreen without breaking the bank.
Why make your own skincare solutions? Because a good skin care routine should not necessarily drill a hole in your pocket. Also, because a homemade recipe puts you in control of what goes on your skin and what it does exactly. A do-it-yourself homemade recipe will help you achieve the same results as the pricey miracle products cosmetics stores force on us.
DIY Makeup Remover
To use coconut oil as makeup remover, all you need to do is use it straight from the jar. No recipe or mixing is required. Simply fill a small lidded glass container with the oil and leave it in your bathroom so that it’s handy to use every evening.
DIY Skin Toner
The simplest skin toner recipe for most skin type contains only two recipes; apple cider vinegar and water.
- 1 tablespoon of ACV
- 1 cup of water
Mix and apply with a cotton pad/ball. Alternatively, you can replace apple cider with lemon juice.
DIY Vitamin C serum
To make vitamin C serum for skin repair, you’ll need
- 1 teaspoon of vitamin c powder (you can crush the pills into powder)
- 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel
- 1 teaspoon water
- 1 teaspoon vitamin e oil (optional)
Mix all ingredients together till vitamin c powder is completely dissolved. Pour mixture in a glass container and store in the fridge for not more than 1-2 weeks.
DIY Anti-aging Eye Cream
This recipe is one of the simplest you’ll find on the internet and it doubles as a eye makeup remover too. You’ll need:
- 1/2 cup of coconut oil
- 8 capsules of vitamin E oil
Heat up your coconut oil in the microwave for 15 seconds or on a stove till in melts into liquid form. Squeeze in the Vitamin E oils from the capsule while stirring the oil gently. Pour your mix into a container and place it in the refrigerator till it returns to solid form.
